unfortunately the beast again anticipates your move and intercepts you. you inwardly say goodbye to the world and close your eyes.

the scaled fiend raises it´s long, clawed arms and roars in triumph.

you sit on the ground, in anticipation of your demise and hope it will be quick...

... when nothing happens, no claws rend you apart, no great impact hurls your broken body away and no sharp fangs rip into you, you slowly open your eyes again:

in front of you lies the beast on it´s stomach. unmoving. your eyes widen with shock and suddenly you see an arrow deeply embedded in the back of the beasts head.

you are bleeding heavily.

if you do not find a place to rest very soon it may well be the end of you after all.

what will you do:

Find a house high up in the tree chunks and use anything possible as a bandage, and possibly try to eat. Then go to sleep and hope nothing happens to you while you sleep.

while looking for the house, head into the direction that arrow came from, someone must have shot it after all

you are now convinced that running around in a creepy forest during the night maybe wasn´t the best idea afterall.

the only thought on your mind is now to rest and so you stagger in the direction the arrow that had felled the beast must have come. some hundred meters further down the road you find another stairway into the trees.

yes. we cant afford going any further

you take the stairway into the next level of the city with great effort. after a while you arrive at a link, that bridges two major trees with one another.

you feel your wounds aching and your exhaustion finally catch up with you as you crumble to the ground and lean your back against the railing. your vision turns dark as weariness finally owerwhelms you.

when you open your eyes again, it is already getting dim again, you must have slept for quite a while.

it takes some time for you to orient yourself and you suddenly notices that you fainted next to another dead elf, this one clutching a bow in his hands, and expression of pain, but also of determination etched in his dead face. his legs and torso are a mess, with deep gashes in them, presumably from the scaled fiends.

you examine yourself: you are still badly wounded, though the rest has taken care of some of the more shallow wounds. if you were to get into another fight you would be at 6 hp at the moment.

what will you do?
