Re: Victoria II Project : Two Sicilies
yes, but so far every facist and socialist system has ultimately failed, except maybe dictatorships like best korea and maybe some states in africa, and you can see how well they are doing as a whole...
tbh. i would like to create something like a 1984 dystopia, but if it wouldn´t work within the premises of the game, then i´d like to know beforehand.

You talk about historical accuracy, but countries like France, or Russia built their industry under strong regimes. What's the point in allowing people to vote, when they can't even read or write ?
I don't see the point in making a "dystopia". But if you want to do it, tell me what should I do.

Re: Victoria II Project : Two Sicilies
have you read 1984? tbh it is the most frightening example of a fictional dystopia i have ever encountered so far: total invigilation of privacy, THOUGHT CRIME as a literal crime, constant frear, total segregation of people and most frightening in my opinion: newspeak - taken from wikipedia: "
Newspeak is closely based on English but has a greatly reduced and simplified vocabulary and grammar. This suits the totalitarian regime of the Party, whose aim is to make any alternative thinking—"thoughtcrime", or "crimethink" in the newest edition of Newspeak—impossible by removing any words or possible constructs which describe the ideas of freedom, rebellion and so on. One character, Syme, says admiringly of the shrinking volume of the new dictionary: "It's a beautiful thing, the destruction of words."
altering the very way people think, making it impossible to develop concepts that are not approved of by the government.
as i said, IF it was possible to create such a society i would. if we were sticking to historical accuracy i would go for my irl values.

Re: Victoria II Project : Two Sicilies
Making such a society will be possible later.
I think it can't be worse than nazism or fascism.
We can just continue and see how it evolves later...
I wish we could have played more, but I've got to go to bed, our factory will be finished soon, and many workers are unemployed, so it will be a good thing. I'll continue tomorow. Good night.

Re: Victoria II Project : Two Sicilies
read this and tell me if it isn´t worse than anything that has been happening so far in history, and if it would be possible to create something similar in this game. i will probably only be able to continue this in the evening tomorrow.
